My Education and Experience

A.A at Rockland Community College, 1972. I took 101 classes in sociology, psychology, political science, philosophy, physics, math, literature, made deans list. Continued on in psycholgy and sociology which helps evaluate media content.
Career benefit: Excellent well rounded education. Able to adapt and evaluate group dynamics and effectively manage staff.

FCC licensing school for electronic basics and General Radio Telephone License.
FCC General Telephone License.
Associate of Applied Science in Electronic Engineering Technology at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 1980. A great program taught by actual engineers. GPA of 3.6 while working full time at local TV, AM, FM stations.
Career benefit: I am a well respected technologist, consultant and systems trouble shooter as well as capable of equipment component repair. Able to read technical papers and news articles concerning radio frequency issues like cell phones and wireless communications from high power telelvision transmitters and wireless networking.

Society of Broadcast Engineers Certification Television Engineer

Working in the broadcast industry watching news casts since Walter Cronkite for 30 years. Watching tens of thousand commercials evaluating content based on continued self education. Mentoring television engineers to further their careers. Operators I've trained have gone to work in San Francisco and Los Angeles TV stations.

Chief Engineer at Telemundo and PBS TV stations in San Jose, CA. Paricipated in new transmitter installations. Installed television video and audio systems, repaired TV transmitters and telelmetry issues. Operated and maintained news microwave vehicles. Etc, etc.

Reason for this post? Posted comments are from a person in the industry for a long time and someone who can answer questions about history, technology, current events, and even how important the current state of our environmental affairs may affect our civilizations future, if we have one at all.
