Brother Foss
As an inspiration I am telling a story of great barbecue chicken. Friends and friends' family had gathered together, rented a condo on a Santa Cruz mountains , California golf course for the weekend. Beautiful weather great company, and a couple of grills to cook chicken, burgers and dogs. It all turned out good with libations flowing freely. As the night went on and the food came off the grill, Rob and I decided to have a chicken cook off. There were a lot of folks already happy, licking their chops as it were as we were both tending the grills. But we decided to cook four more chicken breasts, two each on the grills to see whose would turn out better. We are like brothers, laughing at and with each other through out our relationship. I was always treated like family and many get togethers would follow. So as you know chicken takes a while to barbecue. So we're doing our seasoning and basting working out how best to make the chicken. We're arm and arm laughing when we both suddenly realize who ever wins this fun competition is going to be asked to work the grills for the rest of these family get togethers. So we taste each others fare and our own and we both think they are both pretty good. I say ,"Oh Rob I think your chicken is better." Rob being no fool says, "Oh Rich your chicken is better." We're laughing and smiling and no yours is better, no yours is better. Eating the chicken and slugging down good beer, we laugh until we eat all the chicken. I don't remember if anyone else got to try any but what a great time we had. His chicken was better. I'm still laughing.
