Aftermath day 1

As one Patriot to any other.Since Newt Gingrich and Atwater established their right wing policies of assualting regardless of reason to defeat any Democrat, there has been nothing but divisiveness in our country. A note that on Atwater's deathbed he asked forgiveness that he created so much negativity in U.S. politics. That divisiveness had mostly ruined Clinton's administration (although he brought a lot of it on himself). Why would anyone go to such lengths to detroy our country's leaders? Is that Patriotic? Why are so many Republicans in a state of ire regardless of what may be best for our nation? Some Rebublican has already stated that they need to fight against the Liberal policies of the Democrats. Why not say we will find common ground and make things better for all our citizens. Is he a real American? Oops, I'm sounding like Palin. Already the fight has begun. In times when we need to stand together, he has already drawn the line in the sand. Is he a Patriot? I think he is self serving. I apologize for not remembering which congressman said these things. The day after the election to declare war on the Democrats? How is that going to help the country? It's time for all in Congress to let go and realize that a divided nation will not stand. Hasn't that been proven by our current state of affairs? CNN's Dobbs says we should expect our government to work and it isn't. Why? This is a very important question. So I say it's up to Congress to heal themselves. Will they be mature enough to do that? Haven't we seen what a divided country is incabable of? It is truely a sad state of affairs for the progress of our country. White, Black, Brown, Asian, Orange, Green, who cares in my opinion. We are all citizens and somehow need to find a common ground. As long as the people we elect continue to speak and judge without thinking of how to make things work for all our good, we will be a divided country. Who does that help? May I suggest no one I know except maybe those already benefiting from tax breaks from Bush and Chaney. I have no solution for the nay sayers. But I will pray to God that they realize that being unwilling to compromise and rather seek the better good for the nation will benefit the world and not just us. That's a big resposibility. God Bless Obama and Michelle. May their efforts not go unrewarded and their staff raise to the challenge. I can't wait to see you standing in front of the podium with the presidential seal . And God Bless you too GW. It wouldn't be Christian or Buddist not to say so. Enjoy your ranch. Chaney?... nothing to say.

Um, Richard, all you have to do is scroll down your own blog to see some vitriol against the opposition. The Republicans did not start it. I admit the Bush administration ruined what Reagan began and continued in the Clinton years. However, I fail to see how Obama is going to pay for what has been estimated to be $4 trillion in new spending over the next 8 years. Now is not the time to add new spending or cut taxes but it is the time to cut spending and hold taxes where they are so we can begin to pay down the debt.
